I think he's great. He's also on the French film from Marc Caro, Dante 01. :)
He's not the usual "hotty" but I don't care much, he's an amazing actor, with a very distinctive face. Heh.

Happy Birthday, Dylan Baker
Today is Hey! It's That Guy! Dylan Baker's 48th birthday. He's my favourite actor, but his name isn't very well known, so I thought I'd share with this group (it's far too quiet, anyway!).

He's been in so many movies that I'm sure you recognize his face, if not some of his more notable characters - like Dr. Connors (a.k.a. the Lizard) in the Spider-Man films or Owen, the redneck, in Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Of course, many people rightly associate him with his brilliant, career-making turn as Dr. Bill Maplewood in Happiness. It was a phenomenal, as well as incredibly brave, performance.

I think he's great!

William Mapother
Hey everyone! William Mapother has agreed to do a Q&A over at mapother_fans and I thought some of you might be interested. He's been in shows such as LOST and Threshold. This group looks like one who supports actors who aren't as well-known and he's not well-known, but hopefully we can change that in the future! The Q&A question submittal cutoff is Wednesday night, so be sure to check it out soon! There may possibly be more in the future, though, so I'll try to keep this community updated!

Worst luck ever...
You'd think, as hard as some lesser known actors work to get bread on the table, with the amount of movies some of them make, you'd think by sheer chance they'd actually appear in at least *one* good movie over the course of their careers, wouldn't you??....

I wouldn't call it a crush that I had on Matt McCoy in the mid-90's. I saw him purely by accident when I was following my other muse Christopher Lloyd into his then-latest pay-the-rent offering Rent-A-Kid. His (I'm talking about McCoy now) eyes terrified me, so much that I actually completed a lameo R.L. Stine-type horror teen novel with a character based on him. I rented so many, SO many bad movies starring Mr. McCoy in the year I was cranking that thing out, just to get a hit of him and his spooky-ass Hunk-of-the-Damned bleached out eyes. This poor schmuck...so far he holds the record for bad movies in my pantheon of B-movie actors. I watched 'em all. Fast Money. Eyes of the Beholder. White Wolves 2. Bigfoot: The Unforgettable Encounter. My Son Is Innocent. Police Academy 6!!!

(Before you say The Hand That Rocks The Cradle was a good movie, I posit to you every lame ripoff that Lifetime Network turned out in the years following, inspired by it. Blegh.)

Sheesh. And the guy's idol is Jimmy Stewart, which is even sadder. That such a Hollywood icon could influence someone to appear in such bargain basement junk...

I took the challenge and now it’s your time.
I was asked by a friend of mine to make two lists. The first was the list of my 5 favorite films and the second was the top 5 most brilliant films.

I did this and than thought, I’m always looking for new movies to watch, so now I’m offering this challenge to you.

So. . .
1.) what are your top 5 favorite movies?
&
2.)What do you consider to be the Top 5 most brilliant films ever made?

Today (10/22) was Christopher Lloyd's birthday. I nearly started a cult to this man in the early 90's. He is 67 today and I hope he has many more.

This is a rather good week for me in terms of watching my boys. Just today I caught Jonathan Harris (Lost in Space) as Charles Dickens on a very old episode of Bonanza. Earlier this week I caught Alan Young (whose Wilbur on Mr. Ed was like, my very first daddy crush) on TMC in 1968's "Tom Thumb". I'm furiously trying to make sense out of ABC's series "Invasion" purely for the sake of huggy-bear Tyler Labine. And I'm looking forward to this Monday, because two of my favorites, Harry Groener and Jake Weber are going to at least be in the same conceptual universe on this week's episode of "Medium" on NBC. Happy joy!!

Good movie? Oscar winner? Not interested. It's Police Academy 10 and Doc Brown's in it? I'm there. :)
